Lovely Bones

Hello Lovelies!

I have another Lady Queen Beauty review, today I'm using these Floral Skull water decals that I was sent for review. I only used 5 nails worth of the decals for all ten nails of this mani, they don't skimp on the number of decals!
I started with a base of a Forever21 crelly, added the decals, then sealed them in with Out The Door Top Coat. I love how bright and colorful these decals are, they really pop!

Swatch Sunday: Finger Paints Hue Brighten My Day

Hello Lovelies!

This is another remix of, I've had this in my untried pile for ages, and finally got around to swatching it, and omg it's so pretty!
This is Finger Paints Hue Brighten My Day, it's a sheer black based crelly glitter bomb with silver, gold, purple, green, yellow, and probably a couple other colors that I haven't found yet. This is three coats with Out The Door Topcoat.

  • Opacity 2 Coats but these are with 3
  • Dry Time Way shorter than I expected since I used 3 thick coats!
  • Texture Dries surprisingly smooth, one coat of topcoat made it perfect
  • Price I picked this up at Sally's for 2.49 (red tag clearance)

Thoughts on Orycon(37)

Hello Lovelies!

Usually after attending a convention I'll post a big picture dump here on the blog, and I went to look at the pictures I took at Orycon37 last weekend, and realized that I took literally two pictures for the entire weekend.
This was my second Orycon, and now that I've gone to quite a few cons around the state (and Washington), I've realized that Orycon is one of my favorites.
It's not the smallest con I've been to, but they are hardly any cosplayers to be found, compared to other cons. A lot of steampunk, SCA costumers, and historical/medieval. I probably only saw six or seven cosplayers throughout the hotel. I met this lovely lady in a panel on sewing with tricky fabrics, and she had sewn her entire outfit, complete with train printed skirt, and had made this neat hat with a train track going 'round the brim and little bushes dotting the "hillside". She had even made earrings with tiny train dangles.

I went to a couple crafting workshop panels as well, a make a golden snitch, and ears for wigs. That's another thing that I enjoy about Orycon, since it's a slower paced, less busy space, you can actually spend time in the workshops and not feel rushed through.

They had a lot of great panels on sewing and I learned a lot of greats tips this year! For such a small con it's surprising how many panels they had going, at least four every hour. They had a hospitality room downstairs on a lower level with free snacks and drinks for con goers, which I personally really appreciated, especially since it was super windy and raining all weekend and it would've been miserable to walk through Portland to get some food.
I think Orycon will always be my favorite con to come back to, it's nice to have fun at the con space and go to panels without the hustle and bustle of a bigger con like Kumori. Although Kumoricon was a blast, I'm always drained for a couple days afterward. I'm definitely looking forward to next year!

Swirly pastel blues

Hello Lovelies!

I've been really loving matte pastels lately, and stamped pastels are even better! Today's nails were created with Aiyoohehe plate 056, Lady Queen sent me the plate to try out. The hehe plates I've stamped with in the past have been wonderful, and this didn't let me down! These started with Pure Ice Oui Oui and I stamped them with Salon Perfect Mer-Made of Money. I matted them with Pure Ice Frost Finish Matte Topcoat.

Perfect Brows Tinted Balm

Hello Lovelies!

I've never really understood the whole eyebrows on fleek craze, and I only very recently starting using eyebrow products, if I'm feeling fancy I'll use my e.l.f eyebrow kit (usually only if I'm cosplaying), and that's it. And I only started using that maybe a year ago.
But I can get behind skin and hair care, and today's post is on Green Touch Beauty's Perfect Brows Tinted Styling Balm, which is almost like a hair mask for your brows! They sent me this to try out and review, and although it says you won't see any new growth or results before two months of use, I wanted to write out a first impressions post.

It's grapefruit and cocoa scented, and the balm looks chocolate brown in the pot, but it's actually barely tinted at all, the color doesn't show up in my brows one lick. When I saw the brush that came with it I was sure that I wouldn't be using it since it's so fluffy and wouldn't give me any control or ability to apply the balm precisely. But since I don't have to worry about using excess balm or going outside my brows since it's not colored at all, I will be using it after all.
The balm came with a little pamphlet that explains how to use it and what's in the balm, I was surprised to see black pepper essential oil in there, never seen that in a product before! It has some other lovely ingrediants as well, cocoa and mango butter, coconut oil, vitamin E & A, beeswax, and all sorts of other great stuff for hair. I'll add an update to this post after I've used it longer to tell you guys if and how it's improved my brows.

Eucon cosplay adventures

Hello Lovelies!

I have a quick photo dump from last weekend's Eucon down in Eugene, and my first pic has a kinda funny story, I came to the con with a friend, and I was cosplaying Wendy from Gravity Falls, and she was Nepeta from Homestuck. Less than two minutes after we get in and pay admission, we found this pair! The odds of finding another Nepeta and Wendy... (and they had come together to the con as well!), I think this pic was meant to be~

I fangirled a bit over this Jareth and Sarah

The absolute most adorable little Steven!

An amazingly creepy Coraline duo

Carlos and Cecil

I was able to listen in on Jim Beaver's q&a panel

And I'll leave you with this funny little snippet from Jim's panel, it's actually the only thing I filmed that day!

Miss A Makeup Haul & Review

Hello Lovelies!

I finally got around to placing an order on Miss A's website, since I got a few different things I decided to split this up into a short series of reviews to tell you lovelies what I thought of each one.
I was surprised that my order came in an plastic bag instead of a box, but it was actually bubble wrapped to death inside the bag, and then inside the bubble wrap was a foam envelope encasing another plastic bag, so they didn't skimp out at all! It took less than two weeks to arrive from the shipment date.

The first thing I tried was the Kleancolor Lash Bow Tux Waterproof Mascara, shown below is one coat on my lashes. This has a dry formula, almost no clumps at all and gave me some nice length. Something that struck me as strange is that it's scented? It has a fruity kinda floral scent, I've never heard of scented mascara before.
But it held up nicely through the day, no flaking or fallout.

Secondly I tested the Beauty Treats Purrrfect Pout Lipstick in Frisky (#6). The only reason I got this was the cute packaging, (pic is at the top of the post), and I wasn't expecting much. This is an alright lipstick, I had to go over my lips twice to get it opaque, and it had a way stronger shimmer than I was expecting. I'm not a huge fan of shimmers so I probably won't use it that much, but like I said I mostly got it for the cute tube.

You're a sky full of stars

Hello Lovelies!

I have another review from Zanthara, today I'm using a star vinyl that came in my box of goodies. These started with a base of NYC Robin's Egg Blue and then I used the vinyl with Zoya Haven, and finally matted everything with Pure Ice Frost Finish Matte Topcoat. My design didn't come out as crisply as last time 'round, I used one vinyl multiple times and that didn't work out too well. I don't think I had the sticker pressed down firmly enough, but practice makes perfect!

Zanthara Nail Vinyls Review

Hello Lovelies!

I have a new brand on the blog today, I was sent a package of goodies by Zanthara; a Brazilian company that specializes in nails!
I created these nails with one of their many nail vinyls, you get eight full nail vinyls in a pack. That confused me a bit at first, cause ten nails should need ten vinyls right? But the adhesive on these is wonderful, and I was able to actually do these nails with just two vinyls! It's not so strong that it'll damage your base color, and I love being able to stretch supplies for more manis :) Be careful you don't get polish on the sticky side though, I wasn't and that why these didn't turn out quite as crisply as I'd of hoped.
These started off with a base of NYC Robin's Egg Blue, I let that dry completely and then applied the vinyls and two coats of Finger Paints Hue Brighten My Day. I matted them with Pure Ice Frost Finish Matte Topcoat, because matted glitter is my fave~

Looking through rose tinted glasses

Hello Lovelies!

I've been wanting to put together a rose gold design for a while now, I've seen so many beautiful designs using this color combo as of late, so it got bumped up on my to do list.
I started these off with a base of China Glaze Strawberry Fields, then stamped with Revlon Parfumerie Beachy & BM-720, and finished it off with some heart studs from Lady Queen. I used topcoat to attach the studs, which didn't work so well because I knocked off two studs within the day. But sides that, I think this one was a win!

Pure Smile Masquerade Flower Mask Review

Hello Lovelies!

Face masks are one of my favorite ways to pamper my skin when I have extra time in the evenings, and I'm a sucker for pretty packaging, so when I saw this Pure Smile Masquerade Face Mask at a Japanese supermarket in Portland, I had to snatch it up. I have seen face masks kind of like this before, but only animal faces or geisha designs like these.

I actually found this mask on Amazon afterwards and realized this is supposed to be a Masquerade mask, I'd thought it was just flowery designs.
It has a faint rose scent, and it's infused with hyaluronic acid, collagen, and vitamin E. I left it on for 20 minutes like the packaging said (or at least the little bit of English on the package), then massaged in the remaining serum and let it absorb before using moisturizer.

My skin did feel more moisturized than before, and smoother, but nothing radical. For four dollars though, even if it didn't give me amazing results, I think it was worth it just for fun!
