Wendy Corduroy Nails

Hello Lovelies!

I just got the last piece of my cosplay for Wendy from Gravity Falls, so I whipped up some nails inspired by her outfit for the occasion! I kept it pretty simple with a green plaid pattern, I started off with a base of a no-name polish from Rue21 and then I used a striping brush and NYC In a New York Minute Flat Iron Green for the stripes. And since my base polish dried matte, I finished it off with INM Out The Door.

That last piece was the trapper hat, I had thought that would be really easy to find, but it wasn't so. I ended up having to buy it online, and the one I found was only five bucks so it worked out in the end.

Swatch Sundays: Color Club For You

Hello Lovelies!

I finally found a local (well local is stretching it) store that sells Color Club! Only some BB&B's sell it, and I thought we didn't have any in the state, but I was wrong, and I bought this little beauty~
This is Color Club For You, they didn't have any full size polishes so I got a cute 'lil mini bottle. This is three coats with Out The Door. And then the next day I went and ruined it by layering a black crackle over it...
Don't ask what possessed me to do it, it seemed smart at the time ok?

Got Mud?

Hello Lovelies!

I have another review from Maple Holistics to share with you guys, they also sent me their Dead Sea Mud Mask which I've been using it all the time and absolutely loving.
Along with dead sea clay, it has lavender oil, sage, and green myrtle essential oils blended in, so it has quite the fresh earthy and herbal smell to it. The lavender stands out the most of the bunch, I think the oils do play a big part in the mask, because I've used other clay masks in the past, and none of them have helped my skin as much as this one.
I've always fought with broken out skin on my cheeks, and just after using this four or five times, I've seen a huge improvement. After the mask has dried all the way, you can see the spots where it's sucked out excess oil in your pores which is pretty cool. I leave it on for around 45 mins, the directions say just to rinse it off after it dries completely, but I like to give it a big chunk of time to work it's magic. And even though it has done wonders on taming my oily skin, it hasn't overly dried my skin out, which is awesome. It comes in a big plastic tub, and I probably only use about 3 tablespoons for each mask, so this'll last me a good while :)

All the flowers would have extra special powers, they would sit and talk to me for hours

Hello Lovelies!

I've been passing downtime at work by plotting out nail designs and color combos, and these are the product of one of those boredom sessions! I haven't done anything bright and peppy lately, so I started off with a base of Wet n Wild Megalast I Need A Refresh Mint, a light coat of Color Club Tru Passion, and then stamped with Salon Perfect Oh Snap! & BM-716. And finally I finished off the whole shebang with Out The Door top coat.

My stamping ended up looking a 'lil sparse, I actually double stamped on my pinkie!

Jordana Cat Eye Liner Black Leather Review

Hello Lovelies!

I have a quick review on Jordana Cat Eye Liner today! I picked this up at Walgreens awhile back for 2.99, this is the color Black Leather. They have a whole slew of colors, I really want to try Caribbean which is a light turquoise blue, and Future which is a gorgeous copper. I'm really happy with the formula of Black Leather, so I'm going to go back and pick up some of the other shades! It's a nice opaque rich black, the cap twists off to reveal your standard thin liner brush. It's a very flexible brush so I have to use a light hand with it, but it's very easy to use. The liner stays on all day, no smudging, flaking, cracking, or fading. And the packaging is pretty cute to boot~

Maple Holistics shampoo & conditioner giveaway/review

Hello Lovelies!

I have a new brand on the blog today, Maple Holistics! Rachel is one of their gals, and she messaged me a while back about giving away a shampoo and conditioner set to you lovelies, because EduMuch is sponsoring a #summerofgiveaways. I'll have more info on that at the bottom~
I tried out their Degrease Shampoo and Silk18 Conditioner, and I've been using those for around two weeks now. The shampoo helps cut down on oily hair troubles, but doesn't strip your hair completely, and it has a fresh herbal scent, due to the basil, lemon, and rosemary oils that are blended in. Since I have a lot of hair, I use a pretty big dollop, but compared to other shampoos, I don't have to use quite as much.

First off, I gotta say that the Silk18 Conditioner smells wonderful; argan oil, shea butter, and vanilla mixed together make for a delightfully sweet combo. This does just the job for my hair, after a clarifying shampoo, I love a rich conditioner to put the pep back in my locks. I only use this on the hair below my chin, because my bangs get oily fast and don't need extra help in that area. My hair doesn't seem to get as tangly after showers with this, which is much appreciated!

Since most of Maple Holistics' products are tailored to fit, I decided to giveaway the Winter Blend Shampoo and Conditioner set, because I think everyone's hair gets a little down in the colder months! All you need to do is enter in the rafflecopter below, this giveaway is open to USA, UK, and Canada!

No eating here tonight, you're on a diet!

Hello Lovelies!

These nails were originally going to be very cool indeed, because I got my hands on one of those NFC light up stickers, and I was going to make miss anglerfish's lure light up, but my sticker refused to co-operate so I ended up with boring non-lighting up anglerfish.
But I'm still proud with how these came out, the reason I put the lure on my thumb instead of the neighboring nail, was that the sticker refused to curve to that nail, so I switched it to my thumb because that nail is less curvy. And then the sticker didn't work, and blah, blah, blah.

I used this image as inspiration, and then threw in a ton of glitter for the hell of it. Well deep sea water isn't that clear, so why not use glitter instead of mystery murk? I used the appropiately named e.l.f Deep Sea as my base, and then a ton and a half of polishes for miss fish, that I have no hope of recounting for you.

Inferno Kitsune Nails w/Born Pretty

Hello Lovelies!

This is kind of the part two to my last post, I decided to try out this trio of stamping bits and bobs with a different base color, and I'm loving this mani a lot more than the last! I started these nails off with a base of Covergirl Outlast Inferno, then I stamped with Y103 from Born Pretty and Temix Stamping Polish #5.
Then I matted it all with Wet n Wild Matte Topcoat.

And I forgot to mention in my last post, if you ever order anything from Born Pretty, here's a code that's good for 15% off your order: ALBK31

Kitsune nails with BPS

Hello Lovelies!

I have another Born Pretty review for you today! They sent me a stamping plate, squishy stamper head, and a white stamping polish so I figured I'd bring them all together into one post for you! I actually tried out this combo twice, once with this dark blue creme base, and once with an orange shimmer. I'll post the orange version soon!
This time around, I started with a base of China Glaze First Mate, then I stamped with plate Y013, this super squishy stamper head, and Temix Stamping Polish #5.
This stamping head is the squishiest I've ever had, it's slightly sticky too, and I didn't have to do any priming before I dove into stamping. I roll with this one, I tried just presssing straight down, but it's too squishy for that. It picked up all the details of the image perfectly, and transferred them perfectly too. I'll be trying this with some of the Bundle Monster plates I haven't been able to use before because they wouldn't pick up all the way, fingers crossed it works!

When I used Out The Door, it smeared my beautiful stamping :( I had such crisp lines before, I was really annoyed because I've never had Out The Door smear my stamping before.

Swatch Sundays: L'oreal Indigo Classic

Hello Lovelies!

Brief post today guys, because I'm falling asleep as I jot this out real quick, haha. This is L'oreal Indigo Classic, it's a bright navy blue textured polish, this falls into the really rough category of sugar textures. I picked this up from Big Lots eons ago and thought it was a creme until I picked it out for a nail art design, and went "Huh, what's going on with this?" Eventually I caught on that it was a texture, and not that I'd left my polish out in the sun too long. This is two coats, no top coat obviously.

JGOB Blender Beauty Sponge Review & Giveaway!

Hello Lovelies!

I used to always use sponges for foundation, because I could never find a good brush, but about a month ago I finally got the hang of it and have been using a brush, because I had been liking the results I got much better.
But then I was sent this blending sponge to review and giveaway, and I think I might just be back on the sponge bandwagon. And just by coincidence, this was designed in Oregon which is kinda cool.

It came in a nifty hard plastic travel case, the lid screws on and off, and the sponge fits inside both when it's dry, and when it's damp and larger. I really like the case, because I usually just toss my sponges into my makeup bag, so they usually end up kinda gross.

dry
There wasn't a huge difference in size between when it was dry and wet, but it definitely got bigger. It doesn't suck up as much product as the previous sponges I've used, and it's a great tool to seamlessly blend out my makeup.
It cleans up easily too, I just used a bit of my face wash on it, and all the foundation residue came out without any stains or leftover.

after wetting
Here's the link to it's amazon page, and you can enter the rafflecopter below for the chance to win one of your own! Be sure to read through the rules inside the rafflecopter form~
