New Blog Icon!

Hello Lovelies!

Did you notice my snazzy new blog icon? These are the nails I painted for it! Originally I was going to go with a chicken design, but then I realized it would hardly show up in the icon picture, so I decided to go with a simpler pattern.
These started with Rimmel London Caramel Cupcake, I stamped the polish bottles with Color Club Reddy Or Notand the wording with e.l.f smoky brown. Both stamping images came from BM-619.

Swatch Sunday: Indigo Bananas Land Before Swine

Hello Lovelies!

I haven't swatched an indie in ages, it's about time! I recently bought this on one of my FB swap groups, it's Indigo Bananas Land Before Swine from their Halloween 2015 collection. This is three coats with shiny topcoat.

  • Finish duochrome shifter, red to green w/flakie glitter
  • Dry time a little lengthy
  • Application 3 coats for full opacity
  • Wear time really good! I wore this for a little more than a week.

Sweet dreams are made of this

Hello Lovelies!

I finally got all my manis done and posted over on my Instagram for #aiyoohehe20off! I ended up posting six or seven designs today just to get them in before the deadline, but I will be doing full posts for each one over here on the blog with all the polishes I used, just spaced out over a couple days!
These were for the Sweet Dreams theme, and in the description it said you could do pajama patterns, so that's what I went with!
These started with Salon Perfect Mer-made of Money, I stamped with Nina Ulta Pro Gladiator and the BP-L007 plate, then finished it with INM Out The Door.

Would you be a dear?

Hello Lovelies!

I still have three designs to post not including today's, and two don't exist yet, so I'm having a bit of a time crunch >.<
Today's mani is "Forest" themed! These started with a base of Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Jade Jump and a light coat of Crayola Sea Green, then I stamped the leaves with BM-703 and Rimmel London Camouflage, the deer with e.l.f smoky brownBM-702, and finished it off with INM Out The Door.

Peanut butter chocolate mani

Hello Lovelies!

After painting these nails I've had the Reese's Puffs jingle stuck in my head all day, "Peanut Butter Chocolate great when separate, but when they combine they make mani time epic", would be a great revision right?
These are for the "Natural Texture" theme of #aiyoohehe20off. I started them with two coats of Pure Ice Dollface, stamped with BM-715 and e.l.f smoky brown, then finished it off with INM Out The Door.

Sneaky golden pandas

Hello Lovelies!

This weirdly angled photo was the only one I ended up taking that the pandas showed up in, I thought the golden shimmer polish would look great with this light green creme, but the design only showed up at funky angles. These started with Color Club La Petite Mint-Sieur, I stamped with Nina Ultra Pro Gladiator and BM-424, and finished with INM Out The Door. These are for the "Animals" theme in the #Aiyoohehe20off instagram challenge.

Chocolate gearwork

Hello Lovelies!

These are another design from my afternoon of stamping, these are for the "Future Science & Technology" theme, because I think gears and intricate metal work need to make a comeback! These started with a base of Rimmel London Caramel Cupcake (first time using this one!), then I stamped with e.l.f smoky brown and BM-415. And as usual it was sealed in with INM Out The Door.
I wish I had more browns in my collection, and that there were more brown polishes out there! They're one of the harder shades to get my hands on, I love using neutral browns as a background for nail art, or more intricate stamping designs like this one here.

Magic duochrome goodness

Hello Lovelies!

I've still got four designs left to paint until the deadline on the 24th for the Aiyoohehe instagram contest, and still need to post more than half of those, so long story short, this afternoon had A LOT of stamping, removal, and then more stamping.
These are for the Magic theme, since this wordy bundle monster plate actually has the word magic (I only got the full word out on my pinkie though...), I figured that'd work. These started with a base of Polish Me Silly Love The Hue, stamped with OPI Alpine Snow and BM-705, and finished it off with Out The Door.

First Christmas mani of the season

Hello Lovelies!

I've finally put something christmas-y on my nails! Woot woot~
These are another submission for the Aiyoohehe 20 off challenge, and as you may guess I chose the "Merry Christmas" theme.
These started with a base of Ulta Sunset Bronze and a light coat of Ulta XOXO, then I stamped with OPI Alpine Snow and W120 (Wistonia). I finished them off with Out The Door.

Organizing my glitter topper mess

Hello Lovelies!

I haven't been using my glitter toppers in my nail art as much lately because my polish stash has gotten super disorganized, and my glitter polish box is even worse.
But I found a way to lessen the chaos by a bit, I was sent these nail pop rings by LadyQueen, they're little plastic ring with a nail to swatch your polish on.
They fit onto the lid of almost all my polishes, except especially large ones like OPI and China Glaze, since their lids are pretty chubby.
It's really helpful to see which ones have a colored base or clear, and what shapes of glitter are in there, because it can be difficult to tell by just looking at the bottle if I haven't used that one in a while.
If you check out LadyQueen's site, this code is good for 15% off: MWLC15

French geometrics

Hello Lovelies!

Today's nails were inspired by this Topaz watch, and the "Today's Style" theme in the Aiyoohehe challenge. I started them with a base of an unnamed L.A Colors silver metallic, then stamped with the St.Merry by GoGo Only plate and Color Club Reddy Or Not, OPI Alpine Snow, and China Glaze First Mate.
I matted everything with Pure Ice Frost Finish.

I almost never wore watches before recently, but all the computers at my new job have the wrong time so it's become useful to wear one. I was sent this one for review and since it's such a pretty design, I thought it'd be perfect for today's theme!

That time a cashier said my soap was rat poison

Hello Lovelies!

Now before I get into the knitty gritty of the review, there's a bit of a story to what happened when I bought this.
I was at Walmart shopping with my mom, we had gone in for shampoo I think, and I noticed this in with all the face washes and decided to try it out because I've been into trying products with charcoal lately.
So we get to the checkout, and we literally only have two things (the shampoo, and my charcoal soap). The cashier bags the shampoo, then looks at my soap weirdly and puts it in it's own separate bag. And I guess he noticed me looking at him funny, because I'm over here thinking, "Why is he giving these two tiny things their own bags???"
The guy pulls my soap out, and says, and I quote, "Oh sorry, I thought it was rat poison and didn't want to put it in with the shampoo."
Rat poison??! I mean come on dude.... My mom had already pointed out that she though activated charcoal was a weird thing to put on my face, and then the cashier tries to tell us it's rat poison. Was someone up there trying to convince me not to buy this?

Anyways.... I suppose I should tell you lovelies what I actually thought of it! It's the Yes to Tomatoes Activated Charcoal Bar Soap, and as I said before I found it at Walmart for less than four bucks.
It's pretty straightforward, you suds the bar up and wash your face, I've been using it on and off for a couple weeks. It's gentle but gives a good clean at the same time, and I really like the scent. And since it's such a huge bar, for such a low price, I think it's a great bargain!

Swatch Sunday: Ulta Sunset Bronze

Hello Lovelies!

Ulta recently had a great sale, it was buy 2 get 2 free, and I had a five dollar off your total purchase coupon as well, so needless to say, I picked up some new pretties!
This is Sunset Bronze, it's a metallic pale raspberry frost. It looks a bit brushstroke heavy here, but that's mostly because I haven't buffed my nails in too long and they're slightly ridged.

  • Coverage opaque in 2 coats
  • Wear time 3 days without chips so far
  • Dry Time average
  • Price 1.75 (on sale)
  • Self levels nicely
  • Great brush, Ulta's bottle design and brushes are awesome

Lift Bar by Lift Care review

Hello Lovelies!

I'm switching over to skincare on the blog for the day, today I'm reviewing Lift Care's Lift Bar!
It's a battery operated 24Kgold plated bar that you can use to massage in serums and facial oils, and it also has two different heads you clip onto the bar.
You twist the bottom of the bar to turn it on and off, that's also how you pop the batteries in (it does come with a AA battery), you just keep turning the end until it opens up.
The power "button" is pretty finicky, sometimes you have to turn it so far that I worry about the battery cover coming loose. It's claims to be waterproof but I wouldn't test that too firmly because of that battery cover.
They do have an awesome customer service team, the two heads were broken in the first package they sent me, and they sent me some replacement ones as soon as I messaged them about the problem.
But it turns out the plastic snaps on the back of the heads are just really flimsy to begin with, so you need to be super careful while snapping them on and off the bar.

I like using the bar to massage in serums after my nightly cleansing routine, it leaves my face feeling lovely and really helps my serums to absorb faster. The brush is also pretty nice but there's really not much of a difference between using the brush with the bar on and vibrating, and off. I was expecting the bar to have a much stronger vibration with more oomph, but it's actually very gentle. I was a little puzzled that they used actual pumice for the exfoliation head, I've heard of using it on rough skin on your heels, elbows, etc, but never on your face??
It's too rough for my liking, but if you don't have sensitive skin and really wanted to thoroughly exfoliate your skin, maybe this would be the thing for you.
I have mixed feelings about the lift bar, especially considering it's higher price tag, I was expecting a bit more from it. I was sent this for review by Lift Care, and you can see it's product page here.

Shining Nails for Aiyoohehe Nail Challenge

Hello Lovelies!

I just realized I haven't stamped any nails for Aiyoohehe's challenge since the 1st, and it ends on the 25th, so back on track I go! I chose "Shining Nail Design" for today's theme, and I interpreted that as shiny/glittery so I started these with a base of Blue Sky Thermal Polish from BPS, and then stamped that with Color Club Cosmic Fate with the St. Merry plate by Gogo Only.
And of course I finished it off with Out The Door Topcoat.

Blue Sky Thermal Polish from BPS Review

Hello Lovelies!

You would not believe how hard it was to take the picture above, I always take my pictures outside because of the lighting, but it's been so cold lately that I could hardly snap pictures fast enough to catch the color changes of this thermal. This is Thermal Nail Polish Color Changing Nail Polish #9 from BPS. It's a dark purple when cold, and sky blue when warm, although since the house has been pretty chilly, it's been a solid purple most of the day.
This is two coats with Out The Door Topcoat. Scroll down to see a sped up video of the color change action! This is sort of a crelly, more jelly, it just has so much glitter in there.

 Hello Lovelies!

I haven't participated in a nail challenge in sooo long; I decided to jump into Aiyoohehe's challenge last minute, I always like seeing how creative I can be with themes, and this has some great ones!
Everyone who participates will get a 20% code for their website, and 10 winners will get mystery goodie bags, click here for Aiyoohehe's post to see the full rules.

Lovely Bones

Hello Lovelies!

I have another Lady Queen Beauty review, today I'm using these Floral Skull water decals that I was sent for review. I only used 5 nails worth of the decals for all ten nails of this mani, they don't skimp on the number of decals!
I started with a base of a Forever21 crelly, added the decals, then sealed them in with Out The Door Top Coat. I love how bright and colorful these decals are, they really pop!

Hello Lovelies!

This is another remix of, I've had this in my untried pile for ages, and finally got around to swatching it, and omg it's so pretty!
This is Finger Paints Hue Brighten My Day, it's a sheer black based crelly glitter bomb with silver, gold, purple, green, yellow, and probably a couple other colors that I haven't found yet. This is three coats with Out The Door Topcoat.

  • Opacity 2 Coats but these are with 3
  • Dry Time Way shorter than I expected since I used 3 thick coats!
  • Texture Dries surprisingly smooth, one coat of topcoat made it perfect
  • Price I picked this up at Sally's for 2.49 (red tag clearance)
