Pale pastel half moons

Hello Lovelies!

I went with all pastels today! I don't have that many pale pastels though, so all my pastel nails tend to look the same..
I alternated Revlon Topspeed Cloud and Revlon Color Stay Seashell for the base, the mint is NYC in a new york color minute Robin's Egg Blue, and the glitter topper is Revlon Whimsical!

I don't know how I ended up using so many Revlon polishes, I usually end up with a strange mish mash of brands. To finish it off I used Wet n Wild Wild Shine Clear Nail Protector for topcoat.

Hello my deer~

Hello Lovelies!

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm a bit sick of the usual turkey nail art I usually pull out for the holiday, so went in a totally different direction with some vaguely autumn-ish nail art! My nails are loosely inspired by these nails by @newlypolished.

I started with a subtle gradient, and then freehanded the deer with Sinful Colors Black On Black, I stamped the flowers with the same polish and Konad M57, and then added a light coat of The Color Workshop Gold Rush. I'm looking forward to doing these nails in wintery colors for december, I'm thinking silver and white!

Other polished I used:

OPI French Quarter For Your Thoughts,
e.l.f Desert Haze & Smoky Brown.

Fuzzy Christmas Sweater Gradient with Textured Polishes

Hello Lovelies!

I painted a christmas sweater mani today, but I tried something new as well! I created a gradient with three textured polishes and then stamped over it, I wanted to use the texture to represent a fuzzy knitted sweater, and I think it worked fantastically!

I used Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Bubble Plum, Cotton Candies, and Pink Sprinkle for the gradient. I stamped with Konad white and Pueen 63, I also used a peel off base coat for the successfully for the first time! I was dreading taking off such thick layers of textured polish, it took me ages to take off the last time I wore it, and I only had on two coats then. I made my own peel off base coat using Elmer's glue, and I'll definitely be using it with glitter bombs in the future!

My girl has the keys to my heart and home

Hello Lovelies!

When I painted my Coraline nails a couple days ago, I did a little key on my pinkie and was very happy with how it came out, so I did a full blown key nail art design today!

I started with a base of Zoya Stassi, Stassi is a grass green glitter bomb, I was expecting a emerald green because of how it looked in the bottle, but this is what I got. I still think it's pretty, but not quite what I was hoping for. I used Sinful Color Black on Black for the keys and an unnamed Wet and Wild for the holes on the button tops.

Giraffes don't just fall from the sky, Miriam!

Hello Lovelies!

If you didn't pick up on it from my strange post title, I painted some Coraline nail art! I love Coraline and realized a couple days ago that I hadn't done any nail art for it, so I had to fix that! I listen to the soundtrack from the movie frequently too, it reminds me of some of Danny Elfman's songs (he composed the soundtracks for the new Alice in Wonderland & Nightmare Before X-Mas).

I started with a base of OPI French Quarter For Your Thoughts and then all the detailing is a mix of nail polish and acrylic paint. I painted Coraline on my index, the pig/squid that's in her "other" room, Other Mother on my ring, the seeing stone and button key on my pinkie, and the box that her "other parents" gave her with the needle, buttons, and thread.

Don't Go Breaking My Heart..

Hello Lovelies!

This is a bit of a continuation of my last post where I decided I needed to find a new black polish for stamping, and I think I found one! This is stamped with Sinful Colors Black On Black, when I was asking around for the best black drugstore polish Black On Black had the most votes. I was surprised by how well it did, it's a super glossy black with a thick creme formula. I stamped it over OPI French Quarter For Your Thoughts which I snagged at Ulta a couple weeks ago for 97 cents (score!).

The stamping plate is Pueen 68 and I finished it off by matting it with NYC Matte Me Crazy.

Old Factory Candles Coffee Shop Review & Giveaway!

Hello Lovelies!

I have something a bit different for you today, I'm reviewing some candles! I was sent the Coffee Shop set of Old Factory Candles, there are three candles, and the scents are hazelnut (one of my fave scents), coffee bean, and chai tea.
These aren't particularly strongly scented candles, but I kind of like that because you can leave them lit for a long time without drowning the room in scent. The chai tea scented candle had the strongest scent of the bunch, and I was surprised by how much I liked that one because I absolutely hate the taste of chai tea, but the smell is nice!

The packaging for the candles is rather cute, I love the little slogan they have on the side of the box! And I get to giveaway a set of candles to you lovelies (unfortunately USA only)! There are tons of different scents besides the coffee shop trio I chose, you can check them all out here!

Mint Nail Fail

Hello Lovelies!

I have come to the conclusion that I just should throw out my black Konad polish, I haven't used it in ages since it always bleeds all over the place, but while I was looking up black polishes that are good for stamping, and I kept seeing people raving about it, and then this happened.
This was a beautiful base of NYC Robin's Egg Blue before I went and stamped on it, I'm always on the hunt for the perfect really pale pastel mint green, and this polish has been the closest I could find. So I'm tossing Konad Black and I just bought Sinful Colors Black on Black which is supposed to be awesome for stamping, I'll be trying that next and hopefully I'll have prettier results!

Big Hero 6 Nail Art

Hello Lovelies!

Usually I don't get around to doing nail art for a movie until after I've seen it, but the commercials for Big Hero 6 are just so cute!
I painted Baymax and the villain who's name is apparently Yokai (that confuses me because Yokai is demon in Japanese but whatever).

I started with a base of Ulta Let The Flames Begin, Baymax is all acrylic paint, I stamped with Konad Black (which was a huge pain to clean up afterwards), and I used my detailing brush for everything on Yokai. I used Pueen 54 for the stamping, I'm loving these buffet plates because they have large images, it's usually a pain finding big enough images for my long nails.

Deb Polish Swatches: A Hit & Miss

Hello Lovelies!

I have a kind of random swatch post for you today, I recently found out that Deb sells nail polish, and I picked up two since they were bogo. Neither of these have names, I loved one, and I'm just confused by the other. Can you guess which is which?

I layered the first over Revlon Cloud, it's a mix of medium and micro holo glitters in a milky white sheer base. I matted it and for some reason that made it even more glittery, I've never tried matting a holo before and wasn't sure what would happen with that.

Now I was expecting this one to be a stunner, in the bottle it has holo bar glitter and copper hex glitter in a clear base. I layered it over e.l.f Smoky Brown stamped with Pueen 71 and Nina Ultra Pro Gladiator because I thought it would look nice over brown and gold, but no no no! Somehow the bar glitter isn't holo on the nail? I'm really confused by that, and somehow it ended up looking like ugly camo. So I loved the first and not so much with the second. Maybe if I layer it over something else?
