Spooky Scary Skeleton mani

Hello Lovelies!

I can't believe that Halloween is tomorrow! I've just realized how few spooky manis I've done this year, this month has really zoomed by! I ended up doing these nails too late in the day to get pics so they're a little pillow creased, but not too bad.

I started with a base of Revlon Cloud, Cloud is a lovely grayish purple that took three coats. And then I stamped the skellies and Boo!'s with Wet n Wild Wild Shine Black Creme and Wistonia W116. And then I added a bit of glitter with Crayola Wistonia. This was my first mani using my brand new squishy stamper, and I love it to bits so expect a ton of stamping this week!

Giveaway! Glory Eye Bright Gel by Yalmeh

Hello Lovelies!
I have a review/giveaway for you lovelies today! I was sent the Glory Eye Bright Gel by Yalmeh to review a couple days ago and wanted to tell you what I think of it! It comes in a pretty blue tube inside a cute cardboard box. When I saw that it was a gel I was expecting a really thick consistency but it has a almost watery jelly feel to it. It soaks into my skin very nicely and I think it really does tighten up the skin! It’s nice and moisturizing as well which is a plus. There’s only one mandatory entry for the contest, and it's I need your email so I can contact you if you win!

Pastel Union Jack Nail Art

Hello Lovelies!

Last saturday was Hetalia day and since I was cosplaying Nyo!England (pics here if you want to see the costume), I painted some union jacks to go with it!

These started with a base of Color Mates Little Blue Box, the white is Wet n Wild Wild Shine French White Creme, and the dark blue is Jordana Boy Oh Boy. I used a striping brush for all the details and then matted it with NYC Matte Me Crazy!

Sinful Colors Nail Junkie nail art

Hello Lovelies!

I've been playing around with the Sinful Colors polishes I got awhile ago, and I came up with this kinda strange design.
This is three coats of Sinful Colors Nail Junkie, Nail Junkie is a blue jelly glitter bomb with teal and pink hex glitters.

I stamped the fishbones with SH02 and Wet n Wild Wild Shine Black Creme, and then matted it with NYC Matte Me Crazy.
I was surprised by how easily Nail Junkie went on, it looked really sheer with the first coat and I wasn't expecting it to build up this well, but it looks totally opaque!

Sinful Colors Starry Night swatches

Hello Lovelies!

I feel like I've been swatching an awful lot lately instead of my usual nail art fare, but I felt this polish justified a post of it's own!
Walgreens is having a 99 cent sale on Sinful Colors polishes, and I actually only had one beforehand, so I went in and snagged a couple!

This is three coats of Sinful Colors Starry Night with topcoat! This is a rather strange polish, it's a black jelly with micro holo glitter, but it also has random little gold shards throughout the bottle, but they're pretty few and far between so it's hard to fish them out onto the nail. This is the thickest jelly I've ever encountered, not in a bad way, but it was a little fiddly in application.

And here's a artistic shot to fully show off the sparkly-ness of these nails!

Model's Own Magpie swatches

Hello Lovelies!

I'm swatching Model's Own Magpie today! I've had it ages but I'm only now getting around to trying it out! This is three coats with topcoat.

Magpie is a bright neon turquoise with black hex and micro glitters, it's almost a crelly but it seems like a creme at the same time, it's hard to pin down what finish it is. And it surprised me by looking even brighter on the nail than in the bottle, polishes are usually the reverse and prettier in the bottle!
I just love the speckled look, and it went on like a dream!

Covergirl tru-blend Foundation Classic Beige Review

Hello Lovelies!

I have a quick review for you today! I've been looking for a new foundation, and since I have very pale skin it's been a pain finding one! I was scoping out Big Lots for polishes when I saw these, they had a couple shades of the Covergirl tru-blend foundations. This was the lightest shade they had, and since it was only three bucks I figured why not give it a try?

This actually matches my skin tone almost perfectly, and has pretty decent coverage. It's very easy to blend, and almost soaks into the skin, but not in a bad way! And I love that it comes in a pump so you don't waste as much product when you're trying to get it out of the bottle. This is in the shade classic beige 2, and it's a pink toned formula, I didn't realize that I'd been using yellow toned foundations, and I think that's a big part of why it's taken me so long to find a decent one. I'm going to be going back to Big Lots asap to try to snag another bottle, I'm not going to beat this price anytime soon!

DIY Nail Polish Rack

Hello Lovelies!

I've been re-arranging my polishes over and over in different ways these past couple weeks, but I was never able to get them displayed in a way that was easy to get to and pretty at the same time.
After a ton of searching around the web, I found this nifty tutorial on how to make a nail polish rack out of foam boards!

I got three foam boards from wal-mart at two bucks a piece, and I already had some hot glue sticks lying around from my last round of crafting, so this was pretty easy to put together! I added the lace along the shelves as a last minute afterthought, I thought it made the rack look a bit more polished, (haha see what I did there?).

I was able to fit over 200 polishes in there, but I made seven shelves instead of six, and mine aren't lined up quite as prettily as in the video. Here's the video below so you can see how it's done:

Ouija Board Nail Art

Hello Lovelies!

I've been wanting to do some ouija board nails for a while, and seeing all the commercials for that new horror movie reminded me that I really should get going and paint them!

I wasn't going to be able to squish all of the lettering on one hand, so I decided to test my freehand skills and try to have them spreading across both hands, and I think I did pretty darn good!

I started with two coats of e.l.f Desert Haze and all of the detailing was done with a brush and black acrylic paint. Then I matted it with NYC Matte Me Crazy to give it that finished look!

Stash List & Swatch Archive

Hello Lovelies,

Just a quick update, I've just gotten my stash list done! I've linked almost all the polishes to swatches, but if you see one you're curious about, and would like to see a swatch, just leave a comment, and I'll swatch it up! Same thing with little polish questions, like how long it takes to dry, is it sheer or opaque, how many coats, does it work for stamping, etc.
I'm excited to finally get this up and running, so take a look through and tell me what you think! It will be permanently linked in my top bar next to the about me/contact page, so you can always get to it easily!

Thanks for reading, and check out the stash list above in the top bar!

e.l.f Flawless Eyeshadow Golden Goddess swatches and makeup look

Hello Lovelies!

I've been wanting to get a little eyeshadow palette for a while, I've been using e.l.f's ginormous 100 shade palette and although I do really love the shadows, it's a pain to use since it's so big.

This is e.l.f Flawless Eyeshadow in Golden Goddess, there are four shades, and it comes in a simple white container with a little mirror.
The base, lid, and crease shades are all very pigmented and shimmery, and the dark brown liner shadow is creamy and super blendable. I tried wetting my liner brush and using the dark brown that way, and it looked almost as pigmented as if you had used a pencil liner! I usually use a neutral shadow as a base for eye makeup, but since I wanted to just show you these on their own, the finished look is kinda sheer looking. But if you layer these over a good base shadow, they really pop!

I sort of followed the suggestions for where to apply the shadows, and I used the liner shade for my bottom lash line as well.

From left to right these are: line, crease, lid, and base. I picked this up from Walmart for only two dollars and I'm probably going to get some of their other little palettes next time I go shopping! The only thing I didn't like about it is the actual container itself, it has one of those little plastic lids that snap shut and since I have pretty long nails those are a pain to open. But besides the lid being difficult, I really love this little palette!
