The Silence nail art

Hello!

Yesterday my 365 prompt was make something in which silence is the main component. I don't think this is quite what it meant, but it gave me an excuse to try these nails!

I found a tutorial for these nails on Pinterest here, and I added some hash marks to a few nails to add my own spin on the idea.

My white polish smeared horribly when I put on top coat, so they look a little messy. That white polish is destined for the trash can, it takes forever to dry, it streaks and leaves bald spots, and it smears! So I got a little caught up in hating that polish, but I do really like how they look!

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
4 east cosmetics white polish,
Wet n wild fast dry ebony hates chris,
Lotus herbals colour dew copper gold,
L.A girl disco brites light show,
Sally Hansen 10 day no chip surely ivory,
4 east cosmetics clear nail polish,
a dotting tool,
and a striping brush.

Rue beaute nail deco green

Hello!

I finally got around to swatching the other Rue beaute nail deco polish I got a few months ago!

I've used it a few times already, so I thought the colors would be more mixed together but it seems to want to stay dark green. This polish dries really fast and it has a matte finish.

I added a thin coat of Crayola sea green over it, I think that brings out the blue in the polish a little.

The bottle is layered with blue, yellow, and lime green polishes, maybe if I stored it upside down for a while I'd get more of the other colors?

And I had to include a bottle shot with all the other pictures of just my nails.

Rudolph's shiny new year nail art

Hello!

It's the last day of the Crumpet's winter holiday challenge and today's challenge is New Years.
I wanted to do something different than just sparkles and 2013, so I sifted through my brain and thought of this!

Of the old Rudolph movies this is my favorite, but mostly because it has Eon in it.

I painted Rudolph on my thumb, Eon on my middle finger, and Happy on my ring finger.
I didn't want to leave my other fingers plain so I added some silver glitter to make it a bit more New Yearsy.

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Sally Hansen 10 day no chip surely ivory,
Wet n wild wild shine french white creme,
Wet n wild wild shine black creme,
Wet n wild wild shine jezebel,
L.A girl disco brites light show,
Crayola silver sparks,
Essence colour and go litttle miss sunrise,
Lotus herbals colour dew deep sea,
The color workshop unnamed mocha,
The color workshop unnamed dusty pink,
a dotting tool,
a striping brush,
and 4 east cosmetics clear nail polish.

I was out playing with my new camera last night and I got some really pretty shots of the moon, so I had to show you guys at least one of them!

Pink Wednesday and new polish!

Hello!

I have two manis to show you guys today, and here's the first! Since it's been gloomy and raining I wanted to paint bright cheerful things. I looked through my collection of stamping plates and picked out this daisy image.

I wanted to be extra colorful so I stamped each finger with a different color.

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
The color workshop sheer french pink,
Wet n wild wild shine lavender creme,
L.A colors color craze nuclear energy,
L.A colors art deco seafoam green,
Orly razzle,
Pure ice free spirit,
Bundle monster plate BM12,
and 4 east cosmetics clear nail polish.

And I got this gorgeous new polish yesterday as a christmas present! This is from hot topic and it's called Black heart beauty holo lv stck. It's a bit like the polishes I got from Rue 21, because it's a bunch of polishes layered together.

I didn't get a ton of purple mixed in, but after I use it a few times I think it'll be more purple than grey.

There's light purple, shimmery black, grey, and big silver hexagon glitters. The glitters make the texture a little rough, but some top coat fixed that. Besides that I really love the polish and the bottle is just too cool!

Hello!

Since we're all still here, I wanted to paint some nails celebrating the end of the Mayan's calendar.
I decided to paint a sort of tribal print with different designs on each nail.

I started with a base of gold and used a L.A colors art deco polish to make the designs.

I really like how the colors look together, I think they came together into a very Mayan look!

Here's the polishes I used:

I decided to go with decorations, and picked out this pretty holly and berries stamping image.

Hello!

Yesterday I had to leave at seven for a martial arts test ( I passed! ) so I wasn't able to post my wrap up. But since I'm home today I decided I'd post it anyway, because better late than never right?

Here's my weekly wrap up:

Buying: a cute blue cotton tee with owls,
Eating: a Filet o fish,
Drinking: mint tea,
Knitting: christmas presents,
Playing: the sims social and the sims freeplay,
Wanting: this cool retro handheld snes system,

And these are the nails I wore to my test! They're not karate related in anyway, I wanted to do something I liked just for the fun of it.

This is Lakme fast and fabulous 40 02 with Konad special stamping polish black.

This is bundle monster plate BM11, the image looks like hearts over strings on the plate, but the hearts don't show up on the nail that much.

Piglet nails

Hello!

For today's pink wednesday I painted piglet! He didn't come out quite like I hoped it he would, but I think it's still recognizable as piglet. I wanted to do something different on the rest of my fingers so I painted the same colors as piglet's belly.

I did these late at night so I had to resort to using a different background than usual, the stripes would only show up over pink.

I used a striping brush for all the details on piglet and the stripes.

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Wet n wild wild shine lavender pearlescent,
Wet n wild wild shine black creme,
Wet n wild wild shine tickled pink,
Orly razzle,

Fly away

Hello!

Today's 365 prompt is to make something with balloons. At first I thought about blowing some up and taking pictures of them in interesting places, but then I realized I could paint hot air balloons! So I went with the nail based course of action instead.

I painted the clouds with a creamy white polish and then I put a sheer layer of a sparkly sheer white, EN-VY funny bunny. Sadly it doesn't show in the pictures, but in real life the clouds are shimmery and almost fluffy looking.

I'm loving anything to do with hot air balloons at the moment, so I'm especially liking these.

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Lakme color crush 03,
Wet n wild wild shine french white creme,
EN-VY funny bunny,
Orly ever burgundy,
Essence colour and go little miss sunrise,

Pink and black striped

Hello and happy Wednesday!
Today's pink mani was inspired by these nails. I started with a base of white and striped black and pink over it. Then I stamped flowers over the middle of my nails with konad plate M4.
I'm a bit disappointed with how they came out, the flowers kind of blend in instead of popping out like I hoped they would.
But I suppose they're still kind of cute, so they weren't a complete failure.

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Wet n wild wild shine french white creme,
Wet n wild wild shine black creme,
Wet n wild wild shine tickled pink,
Konad plate M4,
a striping brush,
and 4 east cosmetics clear nail polish.

I started with a base of this mint green and used a striping brush and a dotting tool for the details on the gingerbread men.

Sophisticated french tips

I found these nails while killing time on pinterest, and immediately put them on my to do list for MSMD.

I went through all my stamping plates and picked the most delicate looking one I could find, and I just free handed the tips with the brush that came with the bottle of polish.

I really love off color french tips, and I think I'm going to be wearing more of them in the near future.

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
The color workshop unnamed sheer pink,
Wet n wild wild shine black creme,
Shany plate SH18,
and Quick dry top coat.
