Signapore flag nail art

Today's 365 prompt is to spin a globe, put your finger on a random location, and make something inspired by it. I landed on Singapore so I went researching and found a picture of their flag.
I think it's a really beautiful design so I painted my nails to look like it.
It was hard to squish all the little stars in, but somehow I got them to fit in after a couple tries.
I used a detail brush to paint the stars and moon.
I started with a base of red and layered the white over it by painting a line on the middle of my nail and then filling it in with the brush that came with the bottle.

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Wet n wild wild shine french white creme,
The color workshop unnamed,
a striping brush,
and Quick dry top coat.

Pink and white polka dots

I have to admit, I've been having trouble thinking of new pink Wednesday ideas lately. So I did something that doesn't require much creativity, polka dots. And although they're not amazingly complicated and time consuming I still really like them.
I started with a base of Wet n wild wild shine french white creme and dotted Wet n wild wild shine tickled pink over it. I finished with a coat of Quick dry top coat.
Unfortunately about twenty minutes after I painted these, I horrifically smudged and warped them by grabbing a book wrong. So off they went, and even though they had a short lifespan I still love them.

MSMD Owls

Hello! For today's monkey see monkey do monday I have owl nails for you, I found them on pinterest here. The original only had owls on the thumb and ring finger, but I decided I wanted them on all my fingers because they're just so cute!
I used rhinestones for the eyes instead of black to make them extra sparkly.
I used a striping brush for the eyebrows and a dotting tool for everything else.

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
EN-VY blue my mind,
Wet n wild wild shine french white creme,
The color workshop unnamed,
Stop nail rhinestones,
a striping brush,
a dotting tool,
and Quick dry top coat.

scunci evolution hair bands

I have really thick hair and I'm always snapping or wearing out the elastic of my hairbands. Most of mine only last a week so I've been looking for a different tougher type.

I found these, scunci no slip grip evolution hair bands at Walmart for 2.98.
I wore them for a couple days before I passed my verdict, and I absolutely love them!
I practice martial arts so I always have my hair up in class and these keep your hair in place all day without loosening up. And as a plus they don't look as silly as normal hair ties when you leave them on your wrist all day. I've used the same one for a week and it hasn't bent out of shape or lost it's elasticity at all. So overall these are the best hair bands I've ever bought and I highly recommend them!

Listening to: Pure imagination,

Wanting: this necklace.

Yesterday's 365 prompt was to make something out a tin can or a soda can. I used this tutorial to make it and I used a 7-up can.

It's hanging in my window for now, I wanted to put a tea light in it but all my tea lights were lost in halloween pumpkin making.

Turkey hand nail art

Today's 365 prompt is to make something inspired by your hand. I wanted to do something thanksgiving related so I painted the turkeys you make by tracing your hand and filling it in.
I started by painting the outline of the turkey in brown and filling in the belly.

These were really hard to photograph since the turkey curves over the entire nail, I couldn't get everything in one shot so I have both angles of my thumb.
I used a dotting tool to paint the stripes on the feathers instead of a brush since they're so small. And I used the dotting tool again for the eyes and beak.

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Color mates winey the pooh,
Essence colour and go little miss sunrise,
Wet n wild wild shine black creme,
Wet n wild wild shine french white creme,
Wet n wild wild shine jezebel,
Lotus herbals colour dew pink lustre,
Color mates nail art cocoa,
L.A colors art deco mint green,
L.A colors art deco dark purple,
L.A colors art deco orange,
a striping brush,
a dotting tool,
and Quick dry top coat.

Starry night nail art

Vincent Van Gogh has always been my favorite artist. I used to have coloring books with his art and I think this is a little bit like that! Today's 365 prompt was to recreate a famous work of art, so I had to choose starry night.
Mine doesn't do justice to the original but I still love them. I looked around google for other people's versions, but I couldn't find any I liked so I just winged it. I have a big framed poster on my bedroom wall, so I just used that to try to copy it onto my nails.

I painted the cypress tree on my index finger, the moon on my thumb, and the sky on the rest of my fingers.
I started with a base of blue and swirled lots of blues, yellows, and oranges into the stars and sky.

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors Hardener/strengthener,
Wet n wild wild shine bijou blue,
L.A colors art deco yellow,
L.A colors art deco dark blue,
Sally Hansen insta-dri jumpin' jade,

Love letter nails

I was on pinterest (again) and found these really cute nails. I thought they would look perfect in pink, so I had to save them until a Wednesday.
I started with a base of Wet n wild wild shine tickled pink and let it dry. I figured since I have lots of loops to do, it would give it a better chance at life if I let my base dry first.
I used Wet n wild wild shine black creme and a striping brush to paint the letters.
I added a doodly heart to my thumb because I thought it looked a bit naked compared to the rest of my fingers.
I really love how these came out, I may have to keep them on for a while!

Golfing cap

Today's 365 prompt is to make a golf course hole. I really didn't want to make a hole, but I did make something to do with golf! I googled patterns for golfing hats and found this. The blog is called schoolnsuch and it's a really cute mommy/sewing blog, you should go look!
I used an old dress of mine to make the hat, it was originally intended for a little brother but it came out too small so it fell into the possession of a teddy bear. I had a bit of trouble putting it together, but I think someone with more sewing finesse than me could make it easily.

MSMD lego my eggo nails

Today's 365 prompt is to make something with Legos and since it's monkey see monkey do monday I tried out The Daily Nails' LEGO my eggo nails.
My nails don't look nearly as fabulous as Melissa's but I still think they're pretty cute.
I mixed each color with a slightly darker shade of the same color to make the little circles. Then I half outlined them with an even darker shade to make the rim of the circle.

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Pure ice french kiss,
Wet n wild wild shine french white creme,
Wet n wild wild shine black creme,
Wet n wild wild shine jezebel,

Blue checkerboard nails

Yesterday's 365 prompt was to make something to do with chess or checkerboards. I found this cute nail idea on pinterest a couple days ago and it's just perfect for this prompt.
I started with a base of N.Y.C cashmere creme and the darker checkers are EN-VY blue my mind. I used a striping brush to paint the checkers, and I finished with a coat of Quick dry top coat.
I really love how they look, I like how they're simple but still pretty.

Fantasy makers once upon a time

I first saw Once upon a time on Polished Polish a couple weeks ago and thought it was gorgeous. I usually veer away from glitters just because the ones I like tend to be the most evil to get off.
But I made an exception for this because it's just so pretty!
I was expecting to have to really layer it, but this is only three coats.
But I felt I had to add something to spice it up, so I stamped with Lotus herbals colour dew gold mist and Shany plate SH21.
I think  I should of used a lighter stamp, but that's just because it covers so much of Once upon a time. But I still love it!

New handmade jewelry

I found and made this pin on pinterest a couple weeks ago. I didn't have any spare necklace chains lying around so I used some hemp cord instead. I used hot glue on the back of the heart to attach it to the hemp.
These are some toadstool earrings I made a couple weeks out of Sculpey.
And these owl earrings are also made out of Sculpey.

I made this rainbow colored cloud with a bunch of different colors of Sculpey, and since I had some clay leftover I kneaded it all together and made this tie-dye looking heart.
And last but not least, this is my golden snitch pendant. I used yellow and light brown Sculpey, and I painted the body copper after I baked.

Pink and mint beachy nails

I found these nails on Pinterest a while back and absolutely loved them to death. But I didn't have a light enough green so I had to wait until I found one.
And I finally found the perfect color, Sally Hansen hard as nails X-treme wear mint sorbet!
I was going to stamp stars on my thumb, but the stamp wouldn't show up so I left them plain.
I started with my mint base and striped pink over it. I outlined the pink with the same gold I used for my middle and pinkie fingers.
I really love how they look, my colors are a bit brighter than the original but I still think they look wonderful.

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Sally Hansen hard as nails X-treme wear mint sorbet,
Wet n wild wild shine tickled pink,
L.A colors art deco gold glitter,
a striping brush,
and Quick dry top coat.

And on a completely unrelated note, I found these gorgeous mushrooms growing from the side of a tree in my yard. I thought they were just so pretty so I just had to take pictures to share with the world.
