Wicked witch of the east nail art

It's the last day of the This is Halloween challenge! I wasn't sure I was going to be able to do all the days at first, but I surprised myself with some really good ideas! I'm really glad I did this, and it was fun to see everyone else's designs.
The last theme is to re-create a mani from another challenger. I chose Glitter me this's Wicked witch of the east inspired nail art.
I loved the way her's looked so I had to try it out for myself. My striping isn't as neat and tidy as hers, but I still love it. I used a base of Wet n wild wild shine french white creme, and striped with Wet n wild wild shine black creme. The red tips are Wet n wild wild shine jezebel.

Trick or treat nail art

For my trick or treat nails I decided to paint different types of candy instead of stamping. I have a lot of lollipop stamps but I wanted to do something freehand.
My index finger is a mint, my ring finger is mnm's, and my pinkie is a candycorn.
I painted my thumb as the jack o' lantern, and my middle finger says trick or treat. I'm really love how they came out, I especially like my middle finger.

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Wet n wild wild shine french white creme,
Wet n wild wild shine black creme,
Wet n wild wild shine jezebel,
Pure ice free spirit,
Pure ice french kiss,
L.A colors color craze sea shell,
L.A girl disco brites light show,
Quick dry top coat,
a striping brush,
and a dotting tool.

Gravestone nail art

It's day nine of the This is Halloween challenge and today's theme is graveyard!
I've been looking forward to this one, I love things that have to do with graveyards, and now I have an excuse to put them on my nails!
I started by sponging a couple different grays over a silver base. I used a striping brush to do the lettering, my ring finger is supposed to say loving mother, but I ran out of room and the letters got kind of smooshed together.

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Wet n wild wild shine metallica,
L.A colors art deco silver,
The color workshop unnamed,
Wet n wild wild shine black creme,
EN-VY blue my mind,
a striping brush,
and Quick dry top coat.

Which witch?

It's day eight of the This is Halloween challenge and today's theme is witches. I decided to paint Hermione Granger nails, because she is one of my favorite witches.
I painted her tapestry bag on my index finger, the s.p.e.w logo on my middle, a half knitted hat on my ring, the gryffindor colors on my pinkie, and the time turner on my thumb.
My camera wasn't really loving my thumb so I wasn't able to get a really clear picture of it. I think the combination of silver and gold did it in.

Here's the polishes I used:
L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Wet n wild wild shine metallica,
Wet n wild wild shine wild card, Wet n wild wild shine jezebel, Pure ice scandal,
EN-VY funny bunny,
EN-VY cuckoo for you,
EN-VY blue my mind,
Color mates metallic venom,
L.A colors art deco silver,
Lotus Herbals colour dew gold mist,
a striping brush,
a dotting tool,
and Quick dry top coat.

Rainbow skittle nails

A friend of mine did her nails in this rainbow style, and I thought it was really cute so I tried it out on my nails. Usually I dedicate the entire month of October to Halloween, but I think I'll make an exception for these.
I love how they came out, I've only done rainbow designs a few times, but I think I'll be doing more in the future.

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Pure ice free spirit,
Pure ice french kiss,
Wet n wild wild shine jezebel,
Color mates metallic venom,
and L.A colors color craze sea shell.

Pink skittle nails

I wanted to do something a bit different for pink Wednesday today, I've been stamping a lot lately these past few weeks. I decided to do a skittle, I pulled out a bunch of my pink polishes and put these together.
I had a different pink glitter I was going to use for my pinkie but it refused to cooperate so I used L.A splash love crush instead. I really like this polish, but you have to fish around the bottle to get any hearts on the brush.

Here's the polishes I used:
L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Orly razzle, Wet n wild wild shine lavender pearlescent,
Wet n wild wild shine lavender creme,
Wet n wild wild shine tickled pink,
L.A splash love crush,
and Quick dry top coat.

Fire and brimstone gradient

Today's This is Halloween challenge theme is gradient. I've been kind of dreading having to do the gradient. It's not that I'm bad at them, I wanted to do something unique and different.
At first I thought maybe I'd do a candy corn gradient but then I decided I wanted to do something a bit darker.
These are my devil/fire and brimstone nails! I used The Nailasaurus gradient tutorial for the first time and I really found it helpful!
I'm really happy with how it came out, I think this is one of my better gradient attempts. I used a black and a almost black reddish vampy color over my red basecoat.

Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Orly ever burgundy,
N.Y.C black lace creme,
The color workshop unnamed,
a bathroom sponge,
and Quick dry top coat.

Going batty!

It's day six of the This is Halloween challenge and the theme is Bats! I've been looking forward to this theme because I love bats, or at least bats on my nails.
I started with two coats of Color Mates metallic venom, then I stamped the bats with Konad special stamping polish black. I used Bundlemonster plate BM13.
There was another bat image on the same plate I was going to use with this, but it refused to stamp properly so I stuck with just the one.
I love how they came out, but I did them late at night before I went to bed. Apparently I didn't let them dry enough, because they didn't look that wonderful in the morning. I'm not sure if I'm enthusiastic enough to redo them or not.

Happy Wednesday! For today's pink-ness I stamped black witches over a sparkly pink base.
I started with a base of Wet n wild wild shine lavender creme, and put a light coat of The Color Workshop silver glitter over it. Then I stamped the witch from Shany plate SH02 with Konad special stamping polish black.

Zombies love brains

It's day five of the This is Halloween challenge, the theme is zombies and it's monkey see monkey do monday! So as you can see I had my plate pretty full for this post.
I looked around the internet and found two zombie manis I really liked. I got the I heart brains idea from Never too much glitter and the brains idea from For your nails only
I'm really happy with how they came out, I wasn't sure if I could do the brains but I think they came out really well.

Here's the polishes I used:
L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Wet n wild wild shine wild card,
Wet n wild wild shine jezebel,
Wet n wild wild shine black creme,
N.Y.C sheer french manicure kisses,

Burgers and nails

I painted perry the platypus nails a while back and I submitted them to burgers and nails. They got posted today so click here to see them!

Jack o' lantern nail art

Today's This is Halloween challenge theme is jack o' lanterns.
I did some nails very similar to these last year but I accidentally deleted the pictures off my camera before I could post them. But now I have a second chance to show them off! I started with a base of orange and put a light coat of silver sparkles over it to give it a bit more oomph. I painted the mouth and eyes with a striping brush.
I'm happy with how they came out, I like the old fashioned Halloween feel they have.

Here's the polishes I used:
L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
L.A girl disco brites light show,
Wet n wild wild shine black creme,
The color workshop silver glitter,
a striping brush,
and Quick dry top coat.

Pink spiderweb nails

I found these nails off pinterest a couple weeks ago, I was despairing of thinking of things that are pink and halloween themed. I used the same stamp but a darker shade of pink, I like the jewel tones better.

For some reason this polish won't photograph properly inside so I have a cheerful leafy background in my pictures.

Here's the polishes I used:
L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Wet n wild wild shine lavender pearlescent,
Bundle monster plate BM13,
Konad special stamping polish black,
and Fast dry top coat.

Halloween barbie

A couple days ago I had a really weird 365 prompt. The prompt was make something that people hide. My first thoughts were maybe a treasure chest, but then I thought a body. Because well occasionally people have inconvenient bodies to hide right?
I used a kid barbie because I wasn't sure if this would work with a normal barbie. But the only kid barbie I could find was headless so I had to work around that. But I think it gives it a bit more character don't you think?

I painted the whole thing black and then painted a simplified skeleton on the front of the barbie. I wasn't sure how it would look if I did both sides so I left the back plain black.
And now I have a little friend for my little dead pony!

Who ya gonna call?

Ghostbusters! Instead of my usual scramble to think of something good, I had tons of ideas for this challenge. But I finally decided on ghostbusters because I had a feeling they would look cute, and they sure do!
I painted the ghostbusters logo on my middle finger, and the rest of my fingers are green slime.
When I painted the logo I started by painting a red circle. I did the outline of the ghost in white over that, and then I painted the red stripe over the whole thing. Then I outlined the ghost and painted it eyes and mouth in black.

Here's the polishes I used:
L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Wet n wild wild shine black creme,
Wet n wild wild shine french white creme,
Wet n wild wild shine jezebel,
L.A colors art deco dark green,
a striping brush,
and Fast dry top coat.

Doctor who freezer paper stencil shirt

I saw a really cute t-shirt at the mall a couple weeks ago that said "I heart heart doctor who". I really liked it but sadly I was too cheap to buy it. I've been wanting to try out freezer paper stenciling for a while now and I realized I could make my own t-shirt!
I got the t-shirt on clearance for three bucks, and I already had the fabric paint leftover from some other project so it was real cheap to make, I'm glad I held off on buying that one from the store. I found a design I liked, printed it out, traced it onto freezer paper, ironed it to my shirt, painted, peeled off, and voila!

And conveniently near me I have a store with a double decker bus from London, so I had to go take pictures there.
I actually like mine more than the one I saw in the store, the store one was white with black and red. I think the blue looks better than the black would of, it's like tardis blue!

Halloween water marble nails

It's day two of the This Is Halloween Challenge and today's theme is water marble. I wanted to use halloween type colors so I used a lot of orange and black. I don't think I've quite mastered water marbling but I'm sure getting better!
I've heard of using petroleum jelly for easy cleaning up for normal manis, so I wondered if it would work for water marbling. I used petroleum jelly instead of tape for these nails. I'm not sure if it makes much of a difference in mess, but I find it much easier to use instead of tape because you're not fiddling with tape with wet nails.
Here's the polishes I used:

L.A colors hardener/strengthener,
Wet n wild wild shine french white creme,
L.A girl disco brites light show,
Oil of olay cafe latte,
Wet n wild wild shine black creme,
and Fast dry top coat.

The Shining nail art

I decided to join in on the This Is Halloween Challenge (although I'm a bit late) and the first day is horror movies. I chose The Shining as the movie to base my nails off of and I'm very happy with how they turned out.
I painted my index finger as the croquet mallet, my middle finger as a giraffe topiary, my ring finger as on of the masks from the ghost parties, my pinkie as room 217's door plaque, and my thumb is redrum.
I had to paint my pinkie's design on it's side so I could fully showcase the coolness of it.
Here's the polishes I used:
L.A color hardener/strengthener,
Wet n wild wild shine french white creme,
Orly ever burgundy,
Wet n wild wild shine black creme,
Wet n wild wild shine metallica,
Color mates metallic venom,
Color mates nail art lime,
L.A colors art deco silver sparkles,
L.A color art deco silver,
60 second Rimmel London camoflauge,
Lotus herbals colour dew,
Pure ice scandal,
The color workshop unnamed polish,
Fast dry top coat,
a detail brush,
and a striping brush.
